I obtained my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Duquesne University and am certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors. I received training in EMDR through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness. Currently, I am pursuing my values of continued education and professional collaboration by seeking additional EMDRIA certification in EMDR.

My early experience in mental health was in college counseling which taught me the importance of psychoeducation, advocacy, and community. I enjoyed working with students in areas of creating goals, stress management, anxiety, regulating emotions, self-esteem, sexual health, making choices, exploring family of origin, trauma, grief, chronic illness, and life transitions.

A diagnosis of chronic illness in early adolescence led me to pursue a career in the mental health field. I can empathize with the frustrating experience of living in a body that betrays you. As someone living with anxiety, I’ve experienced the feelings of being “stuck” and how overwhelming it can be to struggle with your mental and physical wellness.

Passion for the connection between mind, body, and somatic integration led me to pursue training in EMDR therapy. In my previous role in private practice, I guided clients in discovering their own internal strengths, values, and resources utilizing EMDR as an effective clinical tool. Within EMDR, I am also trained in an attachment-focused technique that emphasizes a reparative therapeutic relationship and facilitates healing of developmental deficits.

Our relationship in therapy is foundational to the self-efficacy you will uncover and the positive changes you will make. I’m here to make therapy different for you. I take great effort in understanding and clarifying your needs and boundaries for treatment. My clients feel supported to express themselves and their goals authentically, creating an ideal environment for reflection and sustainable change.
