I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been working in the field for over 10 years with individuals and couples. My approach is one of understanding, compassion, a sense-of-humor, and creativity combined with education and life experience.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology/Music and a Masters of Arts Degree in Counseling/Addiction and a Dual Certification in School Counseling.

My personal journey, and how it relates to my career choice, is one where I struggled with issues related to low self-esteem, low self-confidence, and no body awareness throughout many years of my life. I kept re-living the same patterns I had been conditioned in for years. I spent most of my time distracting myself in any way I could - but mostly my choice was overeating.

I have taken several steps backward and forward on the journey of re-conditioning my mind and body and learning to honor my limits and speaking my truths. I believe, just like anything we pursue, it takes time and practice and patience. It is a process - learning and processing from the past, but living mindfully in the present; one day at a time.

We are all human. We all learn from one another. My belief is that you can learn from me, and I can learn from you. Together we can grow. We can learn things together in this therapeutic relationship.

My main approach is person-centered, aiming to develop a relationship with you that is based on unconditional positive regard. However, I integrate aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Therapy (MI), Reality Therapy, and Developmental theories. I also recognize the strong impact that trauma can have on a variety of mental health concerns and work to provide a safe and nonjudgmental environment. I believe in the importance of working alongside you to help you develop and achieve your goals.

I look forward to working with you.
